SHOT SHOW 2014 - FAVORITES OF THE SHOW - MY CASE BUILDER
My Case Builder
By James Nicholas
Every year I walk around the Shot Show and stumble upon a company or product I have never heard of before. This year that company was My Case Builder. As soon as i saw what they do I knew it was going to be one off my favorite products of the whole show. Above the owner of My Case builder with an example of a home made D.I.Y form fitted piece of foam. I will admit that I have something similar and while it may work it does not look good at all. And for get about the pull and pluck type foam it just looks generic and falls apart after use. What My Case Builder does is use water jets to precisely cut high density foam. Using a modified CAD program at their website you can design foam inserts to precisely and accurately fit all kinds of items like firearms, tools and cameras. Everything is done through the MCBwebsite and you can easily choose the case you are trying to match as well as the items. I was told the the website has a library with thousands of different cases and firearms already in the data base and it is a seas as choosing your gun in the drop down menu. A couple of days later you get delivery of your high quality custom cut foam. If you need a case to go with the foam My Case Builder has you covered. If your item is not in the data base the website allows you to scan the item and add it to the library. The cost for a Flambeau T-1712 case with a custom cut foam insert runs as low as 39.53. This is big enough for two standard size pistols and a couple of magazines.
